This is the third Steven King novel that’s being converted to movie form. The first two are IT and The Dark Tower which will be out anytime soon. As you know, Steven King’s novels are usually horror so you should expect The Mist to be a Horror series.
This series although adapting to the book would differ just a little bit. Showrunner Christian Torpe explained in an interview with Entertainment Weekly “The novella is 200 pages and one location, and we needed to change that to make an ongoing series. But we wanted to remain faithful to the heart of the story”. So instead of focusing on just one location, there are going to be various locations. Incase you don’t get, allow me to explain, “In the book and the film version, the people of the town huddled together in a grocery store to avoid the mist and the monsters outside. While in the store, they became the monsters. In the TV show, there will be several of these lockdown locations”.
The show stars Morgan Spector, Alyssa Sutherland, Frances Conroy, Isiah Whitlock, Jr and Luke Cosgrove.
The Mist is set to premier June 22nd.
