The Hollywood Reporter earlier announced that the casting process for Fox’s X-men spinoff New Mutants has begun and so far, two cast members have already been confirmed.
With Sophie Turner (Game of thrones Sansa Stark) playing the role of a young Jean Grey in X-men Apocalypse, Marvel has now confirmed the addition of the second Stark sister ( Game of thrones Arya Stark) Maisie Williams into the MCU who will be playing the role of Wolfsbane in the upcoming series New mutants.
Wolfsbane is a strong religious character who’s struggling with her ability to transform to a werewolf. I know, it’s pretty cool. Also confirmed for the cast of New mutants is Anya Taylor Joy.
Anya Taylor Joy who played a role in Split and The witch will be coming to New Mutants as Magik. Magik is the sister of Colossus and she has magic apparently as her name suggests and the ability to teleport using discs which really helps her a lot in battle. We got to see Colossus in the Deadpool movie and with the introduction of his sister, maybe there’s a chance of a cross over later on between the movie world and the series world.
Other mutants coming to this series include Sunspot, Cannonball and Warlock. You might not remember but we got to see a bit of Sunspot in X-men Days of future past although his role in it was really really brief but hopefully this upcoming series would shed more light on him.
New mutants which is based on its comic book series focuses on teenage mutants who are unable to understand their powers being recruited by Professor Xavier and will be directed by The fault in our stars’ Josh Boone.
New Mutants will be released April 13, 2018.
