Coming to collect.
Marvel’s The Punisher which features Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle was first introduced in the second season of Marvel’s Daredevil and he’s coming back, this time in his own Netflix series.
Marvel’s The Defenders came out just few days ago and if you paid close attention, you would find out out that The Punisher trailer got featured at its post credit scene. Like an Easter egg kinda thing.
Of course many people obviously missed that, which is why you can view it below.
In the trailer, you hear a voice-over of Castle saying “All the things I’d done, Memories, they never hurt me. But the past is more than memories. It’s the Devil you sold your soul to. He’s coming. He’s coming to collect.” You also get to see him hammering into a concrete floor for the most part of the trailer.
Of course, some hoped they would get to see The Punisher in a surprise appearance on The Defenders but while that didn’t get to happen, I think everyone would be happy about his very own series and everyone would agree he was really amazing in the second season of Daredevil.
Here is the official synopsis for Marvel’s The Punisher: “After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.”
There’s no release date yet but it’s set to be released sometime this 2017.
