Today, InXile Entertainment made a public formal statement that Torment: Tides of Numenera after much delay will now be released 28th of February 2017. Torment is a role playing game which was developed by InXile Entertainment and is the successor of Planescape: Torment.
The story line of Torment is set one billion years in the future where earth has returned to the medieval age due to the fall of civilization in a science fantasy universe designed by Monte Cook and was also made on the unity game engine. The game was originally set for release in December 2014 but has been pushed back further ever since then.
Tides of Numenera started out as a kickstarter funded project and has been one of the most successful funded projects in the history of video game. It raised US$4 million in 2013 from kickstarter. Aside from Torment, kickstarter has also funded other InXile games like The Bard’s Tale IV and Wasteland 2 and also other games by other developers.
Early November, InXile’s Wasteland 3 was successfully funded by Fig, a competitor of Kickstarter. In Torment, players will get to make important decisions and choices which will determine what path their story takes.
Torment will be available on PS4, PC and Xbox One.
