Who Is Thanos In The Vast Marvel Multiverse?

In the first trailer of Avengers Infinity War, we see all our heroes in the MCU team up to face the greatest threat they’ve ever met and that threat is Thanos. But at some point you’ve got to wonder why everyone is so scared of this Colossial Purple Giant, who he really is and why his arrival means bad news for everyone.

Thanos is one of the biggest and baddest villains in the Marvel Universe. He made his first appearance in the MCU in the post credit scene of The first ‘Avengers’ movie then later on in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 1, Avengers: Age Of Ultron post credit scene and now in Avengers: Infinity War.

Thanos or the Mad Titan as he’s often referred to was born with a deformity into a group of Superhuman beings called The Eternal. This deformity gave him his present shape and look making him look  totally different from his race. He blames the universe for this deformity which is probably one of the reasons he wants to destroy the universe so bad.

Thanos is also the ruler of the Chitauri which we saw in the first ‘Avengers’ movie being brought to earth by Loki and since Thanos is coming for war in Infinity War, they would most likely make a return.

With all the talk of Thanos being after the Infinity Stones, one would think he’s without any ability. That’s where you would be wrong. He has alot of abilities that it would save you some time if you listed the ones he didn’t have. Despite his huge build, he’s extremely fast, has super strength, super endurance, super agility, his skin is impenetrable and can withstand almost anything including aging and psychic attacks. He can also blast Cosmic energy from his eyes and hands. We could go on and on about all he’s capable of.

Thanos is totally obsessed with the Infinity Stones and Death. Despite all his abilities, he still need these stones with the Gauntlet to take down entire worlds in an instance, all to impress Death. That’s right. The physical form of Death who He’s in love with and obsessed with. Although this might not be the direction they go with in the movies as Death hasn’t been introduced yet (No, we’re not talking about Hela). We’ll just have to wait till Infinity War and Avengers 4 to find out.

Thanos is the father of Gamora and Nebula who made their debut in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 1 & 2. Notice how Nebula’s body is full of cybernetic enhancements? Well, that’s all thanks to their father who had a piece of her replaced whenever she lost a fight to her sister, Gamora whenever he turned them against each other for entertainment. Father of the year, am I right.
